UI & Design Systems
Component styling, accessible patterns, and design consistency.
This layer sets the visual language, layout consistency, and accessible interactive parts of a web app. The first decision is whether to install a runtime component package with predefined themes, or to use an open-code collection like shadcn/ui, where the accessible component code lives in your project repository. Open code lets you customize every element while keeping accessibility and framework compatibility. A typical mistake is writing custom CSS from scratch for complex interactive patterns like modal dialogs, dropdowns, and date pickers. That produces subtle accessibility failures, keyboard navigation bugs, and slower frontend work.
